We get this question a lot. The short answer is that most of the time it’s not true.

Anybody can be a candidate for a dental implant. Some patients might not have enough bone to get an implant but Dr. Kravitz has a way of making it possible through doing bone grafting or altering your existing bone.  Many times Dr. Kravitz can alter your bone to improve the clinical success without grafting.

We also recommend a digital x-ray (lower radiation to you) or 3D x-ray (CT scan) to measure how much bone is present or missing. We try to avoid excessive x-rays to reduce radiation to you.  Sometimes many x-rays are required to improve and evaluate the outcome.

Bone grafting is a way of replacing a patient’s missing bone with a synthetic material.

Some dentists use a patient’s own bone. However, based on thoroughly substantiated scientific research, synthetic material has more success than using a patient’s own bone and at lower risk.  We are trying to maximize success and lower the risk to the patient.

Many people are candidates for these amazing techniques. The first step is to make an appointment and get a thorough examination by Dr. Joe Kravitz.

Get started by completing our → quick contact form.

For those who aren’t candidates, there are numerous advanced treatments that provide dental restoration quickly and painlessly. Again, it all starts with reaching out and getting in touch with us.

The fee is $195 for a new patient exam. Diagnostic X-rays are additional and start at $40 and up.

Dr. Joe will only take 3 minutes to place one implant. Most of the time will be used for administering the anesthetic and making the patient feel comfortable.

There is no rushing.  No shortcuts.  No compromises.  No gimmicks.  Proper preparation leads to clinical success and beautiful teeth for you.  We realize that it may be difficult for others to understand how we do it so quickly, accurately and beautifully.  But, we do.  And have for a long time.

We use local anesthesia most of the time.

There is a small fraction of patients who are very anxious while undergoing any dental procedure…such patients have the option of doing the procedure under nitrous oxide gas (laughing gas – ha, ha, ha).  This lowers your apprehension about dental treatment.  It makes it easier for you.  In rare case we work with an anesthesiologist to work under general anesthesia (but at a higher risk to you – that’s why it’s rare).

Studies show that people that take an antibiotic before surgery have an 80% decreased chance of complications.  We will recommend several medications that you start a day before the surgery, based on your unique health condition.  Some people will not take or tolerate medications.

There’s no reason to be distressed or concerned about other medications that you’re currently taking.

Very minimal because of the technique that Dr. Joe will be using.

He successfully developed a way to place an implant that’s going to be no sharp scalpels, no irritating stitches and no excessive bleeding.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the least…most patients experience a level 1 or 2.  It is very, very rare that a patient will experience level 10.

You definitely can.

In one particular case, a patient had surgery and went out dancing that very same night! Some go back to work immediately but everybody is different.

You have to use your own judgment about how you feel and when you’re ready to work (because it also depends on what you do for work).

Definitely. Dr. Kravitz will never let you walk around without any teeth.  We strive to make goo looking teeth.  Real teeth. With real looking gums too.  No “chicklets” here.

By placing teeth at the same time as surgery, it allows your bone and gum tissues to grow towards the new teeth.  If no teeth are used at the time of surgery, you will lose 40-60% of the bone and gum tissues in the area.  Ouch!  And it looks bad too…

SO, its much better for you to place teeth immediately, the same day.  New teeth = new you.

In our office, most patients leave our office with a natural looking set of teeth or tooth.  It will either be temporary or definitive.  the teeth are made in our in-house prosthodontic (tooth) laboratory.  Come check it out.  It’s pretty cool.

Healing time for everybody is different. It will depend on how dense your bone is.

Healing time could range from 1 month to 4 months or even up to 6 months for some patients. Once the implant has healed, then we can start making your permanent teeth.

Every case for every patient is different. Dr. Kravitz needs to do a thorough examination before he can determine how much it will cost you.

For example, if you’ve had a missing tooth for a long time, you might not have enough bone there. If not, then there’s an extra cost for the bone grafting when compared to the situation of not needing a graft.  In others cases, you may have been told by other dentists that you need a bone graft.  Dr. Kravitz may be able to place the dental implant without bone grafting, thereby saving you time, pain and money.

We do not participate in any specific plans; however, we can help you maximize your dental benefits from your dental insurance by providing whatever your insurance company may need to process your claims such as dental x-rays, probing, and other documents needed to get your money back.

Most dental insurances with cover preventive treatments, surgical treatments such as extractions, bone grafting, and fillings.  Most of the time dental insurance doesn’t cover implants but will cover the restorative part.  There are also “High Option” dental insurance plans that cover more extensive dental treatments such as dental implants.  There is usually a one year wait before the benefit can kick in.  PPO’s cover more than HMO’s.

We understand that cost is of primary concern. We make it a point to clearly explain your specific dental needs and the costs involved.

Fees are discussed during appointments, and we’re pleased to offer several financial options to help make treatment possible.

Most patients pay for treatment at the time of service.  We are very flexible with receiving payments. We’ll work with your particular financial situation.

We can offer Care Credit or Springstone Financial which are good options to finance your dental health care. We also accept all major credit cards.

“From the moment I walked in the doors of Dr. Kravitz’s office for the very first time about five years ago, I have been truly amazed by the level of professionalism and care Dr. Kravitz and his staff have at every moment. Any apprehension, questions or concerns I ever had before seeing Dr. Kravitz disappeared because of the kindness and care he and his staff always show. Dr. Kravitz is truly a world champion dentist, not only in his level of service, but also in his knowledge, training, expertise, credentials, and his ability to educate his patients in terms they can understand. Being a professional kickboxer, I achieved seven world championships because I always sought after and worked with the best of the best in every aspect of my training. Dr. Kravitz is no exception. He is the best of the best in everything he does, and I truly trust him above all others with my dental care.”
