Here we provide nutrition guidelines, as we have discovered them to be beneficial to most people. However, note that we recommend that you consult with your physician in regards to the optimal nutrition guidelines for your unique situation.
What is nutrition?
Nutrition combines chemicals within food and drink that sustains life. Proper nutrition allows the human body to maintain better systemic health. Better foods equal better health. The choice is yours.
Carbohydrates are the building blocks of energy for the body. There are two general types of carbohydrates: simple and complex. The simple carbohydrates include white flour, white rice, white bread and pastas, processed snacks, processed cereals, chips, pretzels, and candy. Complex carbohydrates include fruits, vegetables, wheat breads and pastas, brown rice, etc. Literature shows that health is easier to maintain by eating complex carbohydrates.
Proteins are the chemicals that build-up and maintain tissues of the body such as bone, muscles, organs, connective tissues and skin. Proteins improve the immune system too. Sources of protein include beef, poultry, fish, eggs, plants, nuts, seeds, and beans. Green, leafy vegetables such as collared greens, spinach, lettuce…
Approximately 60-70% of the human body is composed of water. Water is used for digestion, formation of an improved immune system, body cleansing, and body waste. Approximately 8-9 glasses of water per day is ideal to maintain body health.
Eating and Drinking for Better Health
Eating healthier foods and drinking water is the preferred method of nutrition. However, remember the “7 Minute Window” for proper prevention of oral disease. Also, reference Dr. Kravitz’ book entitled Dirty Mouth. Eating, drinking and cleaning for better health…and a better life.
