Dr. Joe Kravitz Dentist and Patient
When a dentist first meets a patient, I find it important to use your ears first.

We were given two ears and one mouth. It is very important to seek to understand the reasons for oral disease.

Diseases in the mouth usually manifest as either Cavities, Periodontal Disease, Cracks, or Bite Issues.

When patients shares their problems with their dentist, it’s key to understand how the problems occurred:

Why did they get cavities?
– Why do their fillings, veneers, crowns and bridges fail repeatedly?
– Sound familiar?
– Do they understand the “7 Minute Window” as shown in Dirty Mouth and Discovery Fit and Health?
– What kind if toothpaste, mouthwash and floss does the patient use?
– Do they smoke or grind their teeth?
– What systemic diseases are present?
– What medications are being used? And, is there an interaction with the mouth?

Treating a patient without understanding the mode of failure is inappropriate and not useful. Before any treatment is suggested, I recommend seeking first to understand failure. This method of understanding first, delivers successful outcomes. Patients like success.
